Insulation Solutions
Ekovilla
Wood and wood-based materials are naturally breathable, meaning they regulate indoor humidity in a natural way. A functional insulation structure allows safe air exchange in both directions, creating favorable living conditions at home.
In a breathable structure, air does not pass through, only moisture. Water vapor in the air diffuses into the hygroscopic material, moves safely forward, and is easily released back into the environment. Breathability in construction is well-known from log buildings, where the entire insulation structure consists of wood. The same breathability of wood is achieved with Ekovilla insulation, utilizing wood fibers.
- In a same-material insulation structure, the insulation, air barrier, and wind protection are wood-based.
- The air barrier made from wood fiber is airtight but intelligently allows moisture to pass in both directions.
- The air-tightness of the breathable structure meets regulations and is as effective as structures with vapor barriers.
